Non-contact radar level sensors

Non-contact radar level sensors

High-precision level monitoring for the harshest environments on earth

Kallipr’s non-contact radar sensors deliver accurate, continuous level data from sewer networks, flood sites, industrial tanks, and remote infrastructure. Built for operators who need data they can trust from places that are hard to reach.

Why non-contact radar

Other technologies struggle where radar thrives

Traditional level measurement technologies degrade in the conditions that matter most — condensation, corrosive gases, turbulent flow, submersion, and temperature extremes all reduce accuracy and increase maintenance.

  • Ultrasonic loses accuracy in humid, condensing environments and is affected by turbulent or foamy surfaces
  • Float switches and contact sensors are prone to fouling, mechanical failure, and require regular maintenance
  • Pressure transducers require submersion and are vulnerable to silting and damage in surcharge conditions
  • Non-contact radar is electromagnetic, not acoustic, unaffected by humidity, condensation, corrosive atmospheres, surface turbulence, or temperature fluctuation

The result is consistent, high-precision data from sites where other technologies fail.

FAQs

Got questions about radar technology, installation, or which product is right for your application? We've answered the most common ones below.
A non-contact radar level sensor measures the distance between the sensor and a liquid or solid surface below it using high-frequency radar pulses. The radar beam travels through air and reflects off the surface without physical contact, making it ideal for corrosive, turbulent, or contaminated environments.
Ultrasonic sensors emit sound waves that are scattered or absorbed by the humid, condensing atmosphere inside sewer manholes. Radar is electromagnetic rather than acoustic - unaffected by humidity, condensation, corrosive gases, or temperature fluctuations. This makes it significantly more reliable for permanent deployment in underground wastewater environments.
It measures up to 20 metres with ±5 mm accuracy at 6 m, and ±10 mm at 20 m, using a focused 8° radar beam.
Our hardware devices support:
  • Dual SIM with eSIM for global coverage
  • LTE-M and NB-IoT cellular networks
  • Future modular options for LoRa and satellite connectivity
Yes. Multiple endpoint configuration allows sewer level data to be routed simultaneously to the vendor cloud platform and to existing SCADA, PI Historian, or third-party analytics environments. This avoids duplication of infrastructure and fits within established data governance frameworks. Most utilities use this to maintain operational alerts within SCADA while leveraging the cloud platform for trend analysis and programme management across the wider fleet.
Yes, the patent-pending battery technology allows for quick, tool-free battery replacement. It can be done in under 30 seconds and ensures your operations are back up and running as quickly as possible.
