How flow monitoring works

Get accurate, real-time flow data from the field to your screen without invasive installs or complex setup.

1. Install the hardware

Fit a Captis device with a flow sensor (ultrasonic, magflow, or other) in your desired location - inline, clamp-on, or downstream. Add level or pressure sensors for a complete picture of what's happening in the pit.

2. Data is transmitted

Flow rate and volume data is sent via CAT-M1 or NB-IoT, with options for internal or external antennas to maintain strong signal in harsh environments.

3. See alerts & trends

Access data, alerts, and long-term trends in Kallipr Kloud, or integrate into your SCADA, billing, or analytics platform.

FAQs

Got questions about installation, connectivity, or sensor compatibility? We’ve answered the most common ones below to help you get started quickly and confidently.
Flow monitoring gives you real-time data on how water is moving through your network, whether it's stormwater, wastewater, or supply lines. It helps identify leaks, detect blockages, track consumption, and manage capacity during peak events. Add level or pressure sensors for a complete picture of what’s happening in the pit, so you can make faster, more informed decisions with fewer site visits.
Kallipr devices use market-leading technology to connect via low-power wide-area network technologies (CAT-M1 or NB-IoT) networks globally. Transmission and measurement intervals are fully configurable, letting you balance data accuracy, frequency, and latency with battery life. All data is encrypted, with built-in security features that ensure end-to-end integrity - from device to cloud to the way you use it.
With near real-time alerts from Captis and Spectra devices, utilities can pro-actively prevent blockages and overflows - avoiding costly emergency callouts, regulatory fines, and infrastructure damage, leading to significant long-term savings.
Installation can be as quick as 10 minutes, and does not require confined space entry for many sites. The ease of install minimises disruption to operations and significantly reduces the cost of deployment.
Where data also needs to be sent to additional systems, Kallipr hardware supports multiple endpoint configuration, which is widely used by utilities to route data or alarms directly to SCADA or analytics environments.
Yes, the patent-pending battery technology allows for quick, tool-free battery replacement. It can be done in under 30 seconds and ensures your operations are back up and running as quickly as possible.
